Moraine Assembly Production Status for the Week of March 17, 2008

(This is THE update for production next week)

Moraine Assembly production for the Week of March 17, 2008 has been suspended.

The following employees should report to work on Monday, March 17, 2008:

·         All Salaried employees

·         All Division II (skilled trades) employees unless otherwise notified by their Group Leaders

·         Other employees as notified by their Group Leaders

All other employees of Moraine Assembly will remain on the temporary layoff that began Monday, March 10, 2008.  To continue your unemployment benefits, please follow the directions given to you by the State of Ohio when you filed your original claim.  You’ll also need to file for continuation of SUB if eligible.

Filing for Supplemental Unemployment (Sub-Pay)

You must file for state unemployment to be eligible for sub-pay. The GM IUE-CWA National Agreement qualifies you for sub-pay your first week of layoff even though the state requires a waiting week.

The earliest that you can file for sub benefits is March 24, 2008 for week ending March 23, 2008.

If this is your state waiting week you cannot file for sub-pay until you have received your monetary award statement from unemployment. If you have previously filed unemployment and your state benefit year has not expired, you should already have a monetary award amount and can file for Sub after the layoff week is over.

File for sub-pay by calling 1-800-489-4646 or by logging on to www.layoffbenefits.com

File Sub-Pay by phone:

1.            Call 1-800-489-4646.

2.            Enter your customer ID# (or SS# for first time user) and Fidelity/GM PIN.

3.            When prompted, say “OTHER PROGRAMS”.

4.            Then say “LAYOFFS AND SEVERANCE”, this will put you into the Sub-pay voice response system.

5.            Follow prompts to file for sub. Tip: “Amount chargeable” in the sub system is the same as “total benefits payable” on your monetary determination.

6.            If you need assistance say “CSR” to reach a customer service representative.

1.            Log onto www.layoffbenefits.com

2.            Click on the GM logo.

3.            Click on “MY LAYOFF BENEFITS”

4.            Enter your Social Security Number

5.            Click on “SET UP OR VIEW YOUR MONETARY DETERMINATION INFORMATION” This option will allow you to report your state unemployment monetary determination information, which is required to apply for a SUB benefit. You must have your state unemployment monetary determination form available in order to complete your input if there is not an amount already shown. Tip: “Amount chargeable” in the sub system is the same as “total benefits payable” on your monetary determination.

6.            Click on “ADD A SUBENEFIT APPLICATION”

7.            Select the Sunday week ending date and then click on “SELECT WEEK ENDING DATE”.

Life insurance and Union dues may be deducted from Sup-pay checks. No other deductions such as credit union loans, auto loans, home loans, PSP loans, etc. will be deducted. You will be responsible for making these payments. Child support will only be deducted if you have a court order for deductions directed toward the sub trust fund.

Sub-pay will be 95% of a normal 40 hour after tax pay and that amount will be taxed according to how many dependents you have through the National Benefits Center, not what you claim at payroll. Plus an additional $30 will be deducted for work related expenses not incurred.

If your unemployment benefit is reduced by social security you can fill out a Multiple Week Application and you may be eligible for additional Sub benefits.

If you have any questions please call 455-2694.
