John Harlow's email to the writer of the article:
Thomas,
I'm the Chairman at the Truck Plant in Moraine and was curious as to
why you selected "talks stall" as part of your headline in today's
edition of the Dayton Daily News. I, we, can appreciate coverage of our
struggle to secure an agreement that could further a high employment
rate in this facility for our local members, members of management and
this community. I hope that we concur that this is beneficial not only
to the people I referred to but a huge detriment to the surrounding
areas of Dayton, Ohio if this plant would cease its' operations locally.
We've been doing things to accomplish this for a couple of years now and
are trying to keep the work force in a calm state until we finish up
with this process. I see that you had quoted our Regional Director Harry
Bogan and wondered if this was a misunderstanding between the 2 of you
during this conversation. I now ask for your cooperation to print the
facts as they are. This has been an agonizing time for all of these
individuals who are uncertain of their futures and I hope that you
understand that.
Regards,
John Harlow
